JFH Safety Measures

*Last Updated 7/20/20. 2021 Safety Measures will be updated as the event approaches.

PLEASE NOTE: For the health and safety of our staff, vendors and guests, and to comply with recent changes to KS health mandates, MASKS WILL BE MANDATORY at the 2020 JFH Event.

The 2020 Just For Her Event is committed to bringing you a SAFE SHOPPING EVENT and are thrilled to see that the Overland Park Convention Center is the first venue in the Midwest to achieve the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities. More details can be found here.

As we thoughtfully created our COVID-19 safety plan for the Just For Her Event, we took into consideration the best practices of other events in the area as well as the county and state recommendations. We want to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time at the 12th annual Just For Her Event. Below is information that our customers should know before attending.

As event planners, we’re dedicated to protecting our vendors, staff and guests. To ensure everyone’s safety as we welcome you to our event, we ask that we make the following promises to one another:

  • All staff entering the event will pass a health check prior to each shift.
  • All staff will wear masks when within 6 feet of vendors or customers.
  • All common areas will post appropriate social distancing guidelines.
  • Hand sanitizer or hand washing stations will be available to all vendors, guests and employees throughout the convention center.
  • We will work with the OPCC maintenance/cleaning crew to ensure they clean and sanitize common areas and surfaces regularly.
  • We will adhere to all local and statewide health standards.
  • We have updated our floorplan to allow social distancing by creating wider aisles and passthroughs. Booths will only have one neighbor and remain a minimum of 10’ away from all other booths.
  • Limited entry for guests to ensure social distancing.

You will keep everyone safe by staying home and not entering the event if:

  • If you have been exposed to COVID-19 recently or have symptoms of COVID-19 (including a fever, cough, sore throat, loss of smell or taste, or shortness of breath) you will keep everyone safe by staying home.
  • If you have tested positive with COVID-19.
  • If you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
  • If you have travelled internationally within the last 14 days.
  • If you have travelled to an area within the United States with a high incidence rate of COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
  • If you have underlying health conditions or are otherwise concerned about contracting COVID-19, please feel free to contact us for further assistance or join us next year!
  • Protective masks will be required for all guests at the 2020 event.
  • You agree to follow the social distancing and sanitary guidelines that have been put in place to protect you and our other guests and employees.
  • If you have any questions about our promise to you, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you.

*All customers must stay home if they are sick.
* We request that children over 2 wear protective masks.
*Customers will be required to wear protective masks while shopping.
*Keep a respectful distance from others at all times. (Recommended 6 ft. apart.)
*At this time, there are no government restrictions on the amount of people allowed within an event venue, but we will closely monitor attendance and limit entry to prevent overcrowding.
*There will be no shopping bags this year to avoid close staff interaction to stuff bags and congestion at the entrance.
*Try not to handle any merchandise before you purchase it.
*There will be sanitizing stations throughout the event space. We also encourage you to bring your own hand sanitizer when possible.
* We are encouraging vendors to have credit card machines, which most already do. We’re also encouraging them to accept PayPal, Venmo, etc. and encourage customers to use these options when possible.
*The Just For Her Event will feel different this year but we are dedicated to supporting our local community of stores and small business owners and connecting them with shoppers! The event will be held in only Exhibit Halls A&B (no ballroom space) due to the date change and availability. We will not be hosting a VIP Party or classes on stage to adhere to social distancing.

Year 12 of the Just For Her Event isn’t looking how we expected, but we’re confident it is still going to be a great event! We are working with the City of Overland Park, the Overland Park Convention Center, and observing Government regulations and suggestions to create a safe and fun environment. As the event approaches, we will firm up details regarding safety measures and suggested precautions, but we want you to know your wellness is important and we will take all necessary steps to ensure the health of our vendors and guests.

Thank you for sticking with us during these crazy times!
